So I goes to an event tonight at the Rainbow Room. (Yes! Again! only this time at night!) This time, I'm the "date" of a guy from an old job who happens to be married to the guy who's the CFO of this huge foundation having a shindig. I wear my best suit, bring my business cards, and schmooze. Although these folks are nonprofit, they're not "my" area (child welfare), but I figure we can find some stuff in common.
One thing leads to another and suddenly I've agreed to do a presentation on Child Welfare. At grand rounds for A MAJOR NYC Hospital's psych department.

No, no, no, not drunk  - a mimosa or two, and I'd had food. But I was in a gregarious, happy mood.
I at least had the presence of mind not to totally commit to doing the presentation and told the doctor "Let me put together an outline and you can review it to see if it will meet your needs." But my friend, who used to work in this man's department, had to peel his jaw off the floor when he heard the doctor make the offer. My friend said later, "Do you know what he asked you to do?!" and basically informed me it was a Mondo Big Deal.
