| | Take a survey, help a student | | One of my students is trying to collect enough data to have something to analyze by Tuesday night. :-) If you have 2 minutes or so, would you consider taking this survey on Roth IRA's and 401K's? 8 questions, completely anonymous, and you'd help save his grade. | | Re Take a survey, help a student | | Then he'd have to work harder to analyze your data
I'm shocked by how many people I know that are 40+ and still haven't started saving for retirement. I started saving as soon as I was eligable and always contributed at least as much as my employer matches (except the 6 month period where I bought my condo and every dollar counted, then I had to step down my contributions a tad.) |

I'd sure like to lower that "at what date to you plan to retire" number though.

| | Re Take a survey, help a student | | Me too! I told him the age that the government currently claims I can retire. I hope I don't have to wait THAT long. I hope the age doesn't go even higher. I'll probably be demented by the time I'm that age! |

| | Re Take a survey, help a student | | LOL, thanks. His first draft survey was much longer, but I had him pare it down considerably to collect the data that would be useful in testing his research hypothesis. It would take me a full year to teach survey construction, but even just constructing a form to gather information on a few questions helps my students gain appreciation for what goes into a well constructed survey and to realize that there's much more to the art of survey development than coming up with a list of questions.
He'll appreciate your responses.
