Argh! Do Ebay users read?

Forgive me for a minute, I just need to vent.

I had a round of auctions finish up on Ebay about four days ago. In each auction, I quite clearly stated that I had to receive payment within seven days, as I was about to go back to school and would be unable to ship after that. (We have inservice 8:30 to 4:30 each day - if you want to actually set up your classroom, you've got to do it before or after that. And you have to be done on Friday because there's an open house that evening.)

I think eight of the auctions finished with a winning bidder. Two days after they ended, I got an email from one person saying she wouldn't get paid for two more weeks, so could she send her money order then? Then this morning, I got another email from another high bidder wanting to put the money order in the mail ten days after the auction ended.

Can these people not read? Or do they think I'm talking to all the bidders but them?

On the other hand, I also got an email from someone wondering if she paid me by Paypal between 3:00 and 4:30 on Friday, could I get the item shipped by Friday at 5:00?

I think I need to swear off Ebay for a while.

Cindy

I am certainly not an avid ebay user, but I always thought that if you wanted to pay for an item more than a week after the auction ended you should get permission from the seller before bidding.

Re: Argh! Do Ebay users read?

People either don't read or they think you'll make an exception for them. I think you can cancel their offers and go with the next highest bidder, but that will probably take longer than you have.

There are mailing services which are open later than the post office. You might tell them that they will have to pay the extra fee or wait until it's convenient for you to mail their package.
