Damn, damn, damn!!!!

I NEED to e-mail some excel files to my customer NOW! I was trying to work on them when all of a sudden I got an error message "this application has done something illegal blah blah blah" and it closed my Excel. Now it won't let me access the files that I need.
I tried to change the file names, and it won't let me.
Please tell me that I don't have to start all over.
Help

Re: Damn, damn, damn!!!!

Look in the directory where the files were. When Excel crashes, it usually creates a backup file of your stuff. The file name will have a ~ in it, if I recall correctly.
