Weird non-refresh thing my computer is doing with one blog

There's one blog I've been visiting regularly for a couple of weeks now that does a funny thing on my computer. My computer will only catch the new posts and/or updates to posts every 2-3 days if I just go to the main page. The only way I can see if there are new items is to find the blog archive, click on "May" and then I will see any new items if there are any. Oh, it also does not update the comment count unless I click on the month in archive. Then, after a couple of days, I'll suddenly see the newer stuff when I go to the blog. Hitting "Refresh" won't do it, hitting F5 won't do it. AFAIK, it's just this one site out of all the many I hit in any given day. Any techno clues as to what's going on?

Here's the blog:

Grits for Breakfast
