Anybody else using them? If you're a power Microsoft Suite user, Google Docs are a bit 1989....but, I'm finding uses.
The first application -- collaborating on Adam's homework. I'm "supervising" his work while I'm at the office some days. If your kid is going to do high school online, it's a pretty nifty way to keep on the same page, so to speak.... not only the shared edits but also a bit of insurance on the "yeah, I have that assignment
nearly done, Mom" story. Maybe his definition of nearly and my definition of nearly aren't the same.
Yesterday, I was working with the Google spreadsheets all day (for reasons too long for you to care about, it solved a problem), re work. I don't know that I'd want to
create spreadsheets from
scratch in Google, but it was pretty darn good at getting my multi-tabbed and tricked out Excel workbook into Google, and then letting me maintain and change data.
Thrill for the day: Having everything I needed neatly tabbed in Firefox. (I'm a Firefox addict; my plug ins, let me show them to you) Two tabs of my web admin, two tabs of other online information I needed, two tabs of google spreadsheets. Everything I need in Firefox? Life does not get better. (As long as my internet connection stays up.

)
Laugh of the day: I had to flip to the term serve side of my laptop to get more docs off the work server. Brought up my google docs, which were already open on the other side of the computer.....Google very efficiently identified that "myusername" was editing the docs as well and
brought up a chat window so I could talk to myself.
!!!
Has it come to this, ladies and gentlemen, after 47 years of talking to myself constantly, I now need a chat window to do it?
