Motorola Cell Phone

Question for you techie savvy people out here.

Is there any way (with the USB cable) for me to connect my phone to my pc and move pictures from the PHONE to the cpu?

I can find instructions in my book on how to move from the CPU to the phone, but nothing about how to transfer from the phone to my cpu.

I don't have the text/data transfer package with my phone, so sending them by email or whatever would likely be very expensive for me to use.

I appreciate in advance any help you can provide.

Re Motorola Cell Phone

I used an app called Motorola Phone Tools to do it. I'm not sure why this app isn't free and shipping with the phone. But, it can be found out and about. I no longer have it cause my Razr is history.

Re Motorola Cell Phone

I actually have this tool, and I can find where it allows me to move from the cpu to the phone, but not vice versa.

I've also used Phone tools with a few different phones to do this, but could be your phone company's version of the phone won't let you do this. What phone model is it, and which cell phone company? Does the phone have bluetooth?

Re Motorola Cell Phone

With my Razr, transferring images via bluetooth to a pc with a bluetooth adapter was easy, a lot easier than using the software. Do you have a PC or laptop with bluetooth? Have you tried that? Some mfr's lock their phones so you can't do this, but my provider didn't (Alltel).

Is moving the images to a micro sd card in the phone doable? And then take the card out and read it in a PC? Also, seems like somewhere (dont remember which phone) I read the Phone Tools works better moving images if you move the images to the sd card in the phone first before you connect to PC and try the Phone tools software.

Re Motorola Cell Phone

My phone does have the micro sd card.

I read the manual to find a way to move information to/from the card, but could not find anything that told me how.

I also tried to play with it moving things, copying, etc, but nothing seemed to work.

I do have a wireless laptop, but haven't tried that. I know that I did move stuff through the bluetooth connection on the old phone to the new one. I have a wireless modem on the computer, but we are actually hooked up with the cables for added security right now. We have the wireless set up in case we need to work in the other part of the house with the laptop.

I don't honestly know if my main CPU has the wireless/bluetooth card right now or not. I have to check into that futher too.

Thanks for the help! I appreciate it very much!

Re Motorola Cell Phone

Arrgh...what a night mare.

I did find out what I was doing wrong with the MicroSD card. I was trying to mark all pics to move to card and it did not like that option. When I did it individually, it worked.

So, I went through, transferred all of my 96 or so pics from the passed 1-1 1/2 years, thinking I did well. They all said "moving" then switched to moved...all looked pleasant.

I brough the SD chip to the pc, tried to load them, wow, only 9 transferred, only 9 on the card.

ICKY.

So, went back to phone to try, try again....guess what. All pictures were gone. (The phone has the option to delete, and I chose to delete a few pic that were junky, but not all of them.)

Sorry, just being a whiner, but I had some really cute shots of the babester over this past year and was so happy to finally figure out how to get them moved. Now, I have lost em all. WAAAA-WAAAA -WAAAA
