Ted has a Mac Pro G5 with 512 MB RAM, and running an obsolete OS (I think it's dated 2004. So, I've ordered him the latest operating system, but is it better to buy Apple memory or can I go 3rd party? The difference in price is huge - I can buy 4 GB of ram for what 1 GB would cost from the Apple store.
I've never used an Apple, so this is all new to me. Any suggestions from Mac users?
