"It's so embarrassing actually," said Leota. "We went in to have dinner, we were under the impression Chuck-A-Rama was an all you can eat establishment."
Not so, said Jack Johanson, the restaurant chain's district manager. "We've never claimed to be an all-you-can-eat establishment," said Johanson. "Our understanding is a buffet is just a style of eating." |
Hmmm. Well, he may be technically right - but in current culture, a buffet eatery *is* "all you can eat". So I can
kind of understand the couple's stance.
I do agree that the restaurant should be able to limit people on certain items, especially the beef in question since they only make a limited amount. It sounds like the manager actually did handle things pretty well and it was the couple who was in the wrong in this case.
Betcha that restaurant's already got up limitation signs.
