A school district spokesman says investigators learned about Tootle's activities from another former teacher at the school who was arrested back in February on bribery charges.
| Quote: |
Officials say that teacher could have made thousands of dollars by pulling the same stunt.
| From another story: Quote: |
A second former gym teacher at the school, Tamara B. Tootle, 39, still faces similar charges. At a court hearing last month, Tootle said she was unfairly dragged into the investigation after officers began looking into the allegations against Braxton. "I know how kids can talk, but I did not do this," she said.

Sr. High I skipped so many gym classes they almost wouldn't let me graduate. I hated gym enough that I'd have paid $2 a class to get a pass. Gladly!!!

I loved this quote: Quote: |
After watching it take a few laps around the pool, the homeowners called in a trapper.
| Um, how long would you watch before calling a trapper, 911, the National Guard, the Girl Scouts- anybody??! |

| Homeschool science lesson first, civics lesson (who to call for alligators) second. I'd watch from the house as long as I felt safe. OTOH, we don't get alligators in MD, although there was the occasional gator when I lived in NC.

| | Re We need a sub-forum: Stupid Stories about Stupid People in Florida | | I realize it's not reasonable to expect the hunters in Florida to be any brighter than the general population, but this one is above and beyond the call of duty even for down there: "I'm not dead yet!"
Hunter shoots duck. Hunter places duck in fridge. Hunter's wife has the scare of a lifetime when confronted by an angry and very cold duck two days later. |

| | Re We need a sub-forum: Stupid Stories about Stupid People in Florida | | So hunter shoots duck, planning to kill it. Duck isn't dead. So of course, logically, we take the duck to the vet. Why didn't the hunter just finish the job he intended to do in the first place?

| | Re We need a sub-forum: Stupid Stories about Stupid People in Florida | | LAW & DISORDER: Woman, 38, charged in hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, run Quote:
After getting out of the SUV, Tavary told police she had only "one shot" of alcohol and that her prescription medicines "made me this way," according to a St. Augustine police report.
In her wake was $7,500 in damage to five other vehicles, police said.
Witnesses told officers they first saw Tavary's SUV run a stop sign and hit a truck on Avenida Menendez, then veer into a parking lot and plow into two other cars as it maneuvered back onto Avenida Menendez. Within a few hundred yards, Tavary rammed into the rear of two more cars before swinging the truck in a circle, heading east on Cathedral Place and stopping, police said. |
