It's an incredibly powerful story. And while I just read a blurb of Leslie's blog (can't see the whole thing at work), I have to agree with her. I've become numbed to war news...this really brought it home and made it real to me.
I was at least relieved that while the story doesn't have a happy ending, there's still hope.

I can't get there. I sometimes wish I could. G watches all the political shows on Sunday morning and EVERY week when George Stephanopoulous does the list of the dead? I cry. And then try to extrapolate how many injured there are for every single American soldier killed over there. And then cry some more. Maybe I should try going back to bed on Sundays. |

We just had a suicide. So very sad for his little family.

I spent yesterday with LCpl Tyler Troyer's family. He was KIA 11/19/07 and they had a full day of memorials for him, ending up with a hot dog roast at the cemetery. Shane still has survivor's guilt over that one. He and Tyler grew up together.
