Keith Olberman just cut into programming to report that 8 years ago the McCain folks stepped in to protect McCain from himself in what appears to be an "un-forward" relationship w/ a lobbyist. I will let Brian post about it, but he had more than a hearty laugh.

I myself was wondering if it was April Fools Day.
This is too much!

Re I think Brian just experienced political rapture

I think this was Brian's orgasm-inducing read? (I grabbed the Wonkette synopsis for brevity and overall snarkiness):

The Courage To Avoid Conviction: John McCain's Long Career Of Sleazy Lies, Semi-Affairs & Total Corruption

This whole “presumptive nominee” thing must be serious, because the New York Times just dumped a million-word “investigative report” on how John McCain is the sleaziest sack of scum since, uh, all the other Republicans who already dropped out of the race.
Agree or disagree - that's some mighty fine writing!

For the record, if rapture is being raised from the dead then I think its Mike Huckabee who experienced political rapture tonight.

Re I think Brian just experienced political rapture

Well, considering that Huckabee is in bed with a televangelist under investigation for all sorts of dirty deals, I'm thinking he's more likely hiding under his duvet hoping he's not next in line.

Anyone know the USDA recommended daily allowance of schadenfreude? I'm trying to be more careful with my diet.

Re I think Brian just experienced political rapture

Well, to prop you back up a bit, G just sent the Wonkette piece out to his parents, who are McCain supporters with the comment "I think his Manchurian Candidate Program is breaking down."

I forget where I ran across this one, but the figures stuck in my mind: Mr. Independent has 59 lobbyists on his campaign; Ms. Corporate Shill has 19.

Make of it what you will.
