| | On sale soon in a store near you (if you live in Kiev). Quote:
The owner will be able to choose from a selection of outfits including "early days Adolf" (brown shirts and jodhpurs) and "wartime Adolf" (a grey double breasted tunic, black trousers and simple Iron Cross medal).
The doll will also come with accessories like a miniature Blondi, Hitler's faithful Alsatian whose loyalty was repaid with a cyanide capsule in the Berlin bunker. |

| | I have no problems with a Hitler doll in of itself. People reenact history all the time with dolls and action figures. There are Nazi soldier dolls and tanks and such available all around the world.
I think this is one of those cases where a thing in of itself is not evil. It's how it's used or intended to be used that could be a problem. I would hate to see this become a very popular toy because I would have concerns that it indicates more people having a positive view of Hitler.

| | anything for a buck?
I think it's a stupid offensive doll, that in and of itself isn't evil but will appeal to persons with sick minds or twisted senses of humor.

| | Anything for a Hryvnia.
As long as you can stick pins in it or hang it from a noose, I've got no problem with it. |

| | The irony of a Hitler doll in Russia, a country he wanted to takeover is apparently lost on these guys. It's like the capitalists in China selling Mao gear or people in the U. S. wearing Che T-shirts. |

| | There is nothing good about this doll. No one I know would buy one (except maybe the middle school boys who find his evilness somewhat fascinating.) But, most middle school boys don't buy dolls. Therefore, if adults don't buy them...the kids won't even know who he is or the evil he represents.
However, like other things, banning it could make it more powerful. |

| | A monument or statue i would have a problem with.
Reducing his likeness to the level of Gumby or Skeletor, I have no problem with.

| | Is this a set up to make him Barbie's new boyfriend? Maybe Blair is on his way out.
Personally, I think making him into a doll trivializes those awful events for which he is responsible.

| | But, kids don't always know who he is. This will bring up his infamous self all over again and while it's good not to forget his evilness, I personally wouldn't want to explain it to the doll buying age kid. Which brings us back to....who really wants this doll (adults?) and even more scary why?

| | A little context: there's a strong element of neo-Nazism in Russia and the Ukraine, and very active skinhead groups. That movement is much more popular there than it is here, and not necessarily seen as a fringe element. The reception might be more positive than we would like to think.
I find the idea repellent. |

| | So will Russian teens park Hitler action figures atop their computer monitors, or decorate their rooms with them, the way nerdy types in the West do with anime, rockstar, and comic book characters? And I thought Spawn was bad.
