Grandmother, 77, pins down rabid fox that bit her

Wow. Sounds like she was really badly bitten multiple times and lost a lot of blood. A rabid animal can be really out of control, and that she had the head and the strength to hold it down was amazing. I know that the treatment for rabies has changed over the years, but I'm sure having the animal to test helped with her treatment.

Wow. Stroudsburg, been there MANY MANY times. I went to college (undergraduate) there. It was the wilderness way back then.... guess it somewhat is now too.

Stroudsburg is spitting distance to the camp Matthew and I go to every September.

She's certainly a spunky lady and I hope she heals quickly.

Judy, is it the one with the waterfall? I can't remember the name. It is a boyscout camp. There is a drop bridge that used to drive me nuts to cross.

I actually went to East Stroudsburg University--although it was East Stroudsburg State College when I was there!!!

We go to Spruce Lake Outdoor School. It's run by the Mennonites. They do have a waterfall, but the boy scout camp probably does too. I haven't seen any drop bridge.

Hmmm, not sure. By the pictures it would have really been built up since I was there. I wish I could remember the name of this place. We used to go there a lot, and hike to the other side of the falls, across the bridge.

Spruce Lake looks like a really nice place. Have you ventured to the Delaware Water Gap??

You know, depending on how you go there, you might be passing right by where I live now!! Do you take the PA or NJ turnpike??

We usually take 83 to Harrisburg and 78 to Bethlehem, then north on 33. We haven't been through the Delaware Water Gap, because I usually have to head home so I can go to work the following night. This year I took the weekend off.

ok--you go the other way. I am off of 309. But I know exactly where you are traveling. My kids went (and one is still there) in College off of 78 near Bethlehem--in Center Valley.

wow poor lady, I'm glad she had the sense to act as she did-she saved her own life
