Title your thread descriptively, please | | Hey there!
I've noticed that a number of threads are getting posted in the forum with titles that give no clue as to what the associated article or discussion is about.
This is a problem for several reasons, not the least of which is I don't feel like going through all of the threads and re-titling them properly. You'll notice that threads that are not titled well get far fewer hits than threads that have a title that is indicitive of the subject matter. That's because people don't feel like clicking all the way through to the linked article to find out if they are interested in the subject matter.
There's nothing wrong with being (or attempting to be ) clever but think of thread titling as headline writing. A good newspaper headline may be clever, but it also gives a hint as to the real subject matter.
Also, if you are posting a link to an outside story, a brief summary of the link or just a snatched quote is helpful.

Andrea
