I haven't burned anything yet.
There is flour all over my kitchen.
Are we having fun yet?

Works for me. I'm done with phase one of tonite's cooking. Had to call hubby and tell him to bring home some dried milk so I could make more lefse and a pie.
Gotta love cell phones.
My bird is gonna be cooked in the oven - flash baked until the smoke alarm goes off (I kid you not) to seal in the juices, and then slow baked for a couple of hours.
Cinnamon apples and cranberry orange relish are done already. Tomorrow will be bird, stuffing, potatoes and bread in the bread machine.

| | Hmmm, and all I did today was tell my husband to make a phone call. 45 minutes later he picked up our Thanksgiving dinner (gourmet pizza & tiramisu for dessert).
I'm glad you're having fun, Lynn!

| | Gee we just have to drive two hours South and our meal will be waiting for us!
We do, of course, have to bring a pecan pie, but that's a small sacrifice for a fully-cooked great meal!
Y'all have a great Thanksgiving. |

| | I forgot to defrost my turkey breast for tomorrow. (Small dinner with me and Don and the kids.)
I'm currently breaking all health code regulations trying to get it to thaw.

| | My dad wanted to buy the turkey this year, so I let him. He got one with one of those buttons that pop out when they're done. I feel like I'm cheating. |

| | Cheating not to kill the bird yourself, or cheating because it tells you when it's done cooking? |

| | Cheating because I usually use the leg twist method to see when the bird is done. Damn button makes it too easy. |

| | Took the kids to the doctor for their rechecks and Devon has scarlet fever all over again We had to cancel our plans to go visit my aunt and then go to the parade tomorrow. Then we had to run out and find a last minute turkey to cook.
Got everything all set to go, although we wont start cooking until tomorrow morning. We were bringing dessert with us, so we know now we have turkey and dessert. Oh, and we picked up cranberry sauce. The rest will have to fall into place tomorrow.

| | I have last minute company - Bob's brother. My staging area is staged, my turkey breasts are soaking in brine, and I cheated and bought pies this year. Tomorrow will go pretty smoothly cause I've been doing this for a bazillion years it seems.
On a side note, Sarah was bitching about having to help clean house and get ready. During a quiet interlude I sat her down and told her how jealous I was when I was her age because my adult brothers and sisters would all come home for the holiday and be treated like royal guests but I was slave labor cause I still lived at home. I told her that in a few years, she would be coming home a royal guest and her baby sisters would be the slave labor. That perked her up

| | Well, my pie was done last night at 10-ish after hubby got home with the milk.
I had about 3 more glasses of wine during the course of the night, cleaned up the flour, and called it done.
Almost time to start over....but on the kiddy front, my little guy is laying on the couch hacking like a horse. I hope he stops soon!!!!!!
Lynn
who had better put up a checklist of what still needs to be cooked if she's going to drink more wine today
