Does anyone know when CA units go on sale?
I know the season is almost done (in the midwest) and that they should be looking towards furnace sales.
We are needing to replace the a/c unit in our home and think this is the last summer (it keeps breaking the 30 amp breaker off an on because it takes so much to start up.)
It's been a pain, but it's original to the home 1979 (with a condensor replacement apparently in 1996). We have a rebate program for a more efficient model SEER 14 or higher available til year end. But, I wondered if anyone knew when they start offering end of season deals at all.

Hmmm. You may be able to get some end-of-season deals, but you'll probably have to call around for that. I've never really noticed end-of-season deals on things like ACs too much.

FWIW, in New York my HVAC guy told me to schedule new HVAC installations in February, when they're really slow. But it's NY, and our units are heat/cooling through-the-wall units like you see in hotels, not central air.

I don't know if there is a time when there are "deals". I think it depends on the manufacturer--and the person you hire to install if they want to offer you any discounts or perks. We will need to replace ours soon too, and I haven't seen any sales. However, the people we have our contract with "offer" deals, not a lot.

In the mid-west they sometimes do run sales in the early (March/April) spring because they are coming off a long winter and want to jump start summer sales. |

looks like my second unit died last night.
Oh joy. I have no choice but to dump a lot of money that I don't have and fix it. Who said home ownership should be the American dream? |
