I bet some of you will like this: Homemade pita pockets

None of us are too crazy about pitas, but I bet some of you guys are. Here's a recipe that looks really easy:

Homemade pitas are so different than the stale dry things that you buy in stores. I haven't tried them with whole wheat flour, but I make them every time I get ambitious and do a spicy curry. Baking them on a baking stone makes them turn out perfect - and yes, Pampered Chef is the way to go here, but if you don't have one, just buy a couple of unglazed terra cotta tiles from your local building store and line the middle shelf in your oven. They work for this and if they break you're only out a dollar or so.

Deb - is this similar to your recipe? I'd love to try them, and the tile idea seems like a great cheap way of doing it!

Sorry, missed this! I use the pita recipe in James Beard's Beard on Bread cookbook, but it's still at Johns place. I looked online for it, but found this one that I think looks similar if not identical. It has pictures too.
