Menu Planning

OK, so I have to bring dessert for 10 to a party Saturday. The host skews gourmet but it's a backyard casual party, crowd 30's-40's for the most part. The menu so far is antipasta, shrimp appetizers, steak and salmon on the grill, and a tray of "something parm." What dessert would go well with all that? I'm thinking summer/fruits in season/light but don't have it nailed down any tighter than that. Toss out some ideas!

I would do a fruit cobbler. Easy, summery but yummy.

Cupcakes to go with the fruit/yogurt - Amy's idea is a good one too.

Another yummy dip if you have a food processer is to finely chop bittersweet chocolate (a bar of chocoate can be grated on a microplane too but you can dump a 6 oz. package of Nestles chocolate chips in a food processer) and mix it into a pint of sour cream with a bit of vanilla and brown sugar to taste. It's wonderful with strawberries and melons.
