My Christmas present!!!

Our asphalt driveway is in pretty bad shape. It has sink holes and is beginning to shed it top layers. We think it is about 15 years old, even tho we have only owned the house about 6 years.

Anyhow, we have decided to put in a new driveway. I'm looking for advice--anyone ever replace an asphalt driveway? Anyone have any experiences replacing an asphalt driveway?

What kinds of questions do I need to remember to ask??

I'm no expert, but I would think you might have a drainage problem if your driveway is falling apart after only about 15 years. My driveway is the original one, which makes it about 40 years old. We've had to fill in cracks on the seams, but that's it. My parents have owned the house for over 25 years and have honestly never done more than seal the cracks.

Perhaps I just live in a good area or something? I'd be surprised if I did though... my driveway and my basement flood at least once a year...

Maybe we are unusual? Lucky? Dunno.

Actually I thought about that--but no--we live at the top of a hill. The driveway has an incline. I think it wasn't originally done correctly--or the inital care wasn't that great.

Well--it seems my hubby contracted with someone, and they are coming out today!!!!

When I get home, I will have a new driveway!! It is Dec. 5, and about to hit 70 degrees here in balmy suburban Philadelphia!! I wonder when the Palm Trees will start swaying???
