Strawberry heaven for the holidays!

I just recently got my New Years gift from an old friend, we send each other new kinds of liquors to try, and included this year was a bottle of Tequila Rose.

I'll eventually review it if I can ever get the right attitude back, but I had to mention it here...it really is THAT good!

Tequila Rose is strawberry cream liqueur with...you guessed it...Tequila! Nope, didn't sound appealing to me either. The smell was even less appealing, sort of a strawberry syrup with a strong Tequila scent...(shiver)...the smell was awful.

Ah...but I got past the smell, I did it for you guys...um, okay...maybe not...but hey, it sounded good for a minute.

The first thing you taste is strawberry, a sort of Nestle Quik kinda strawberry. There is absolutely no sign of the tequila so far...hmm...not a bad thing considering I can't stand that alcohol taste. Maybe it comes in the aftertaste...hmm...nope, no tequila flavor at all. Just a strawberry Quik milkshake thingy kinda happenin. In fact, the only thing that tells you this has alcohol in it, is the wonderful warming sensation you get all the way down to your stomach...mmmm...I could drink this!

So, at 17% alcohol content...this isn't something you'd wanna try to tie one on with, it's a sipping liqueur that's really meant for Ladies who don't like the taste of alcohol but like an occasional drinky-poo.

Yes, I did say Ladies and I'll tell you why...Unless you're completely secure in your sexuality guys, and don't mind a good bit of ribbing from any man who sees you drinking this stuff...stay far away from this liqueur. I mean c'mon, it's pink...that should tell you something right there. At the very least, tell the liquor store guy it's for your wife and make sure it's in a plain paper bag to drink in the privacy of your own home!

I highly recommend Tequila Rose for the Holidays, and it's at a good price here in VA at 16 bucks a fifth.

It sounds very good! Bailey's is one of my drinks; I love cream liqueurs.

Here a fifth of the Tequilla Rose will run you about $23. However, there is Baja Rosa, which tastes the same, comes in a prettier bottle, and costs only $18 for a fifth. Very good.

Father Kurt...sorry Father, I should have said Ladies and Clergy. Of course it's perfectly acceptable for you to be drinking something like this.

I think you'll like Tequila Rose, just remember...you have to get past the smell. Baileys' Smells good, this stuff doesn't. It's quite tasty regardless though.

23 bucks? Whew, that's a big difference. I'll look for Baja Rosa next time I'm at the liquor store, thanks!

Do you know if the alcohol content is the same? My oldest daughter has fallen in love with Tequila Rose. She doesn't like to get drunk, and really appreciates the low proof...if I can find something cheaper for her that she likes just as well, she'll be a happy camper.
