I think that if you don't want kids, you shouldn't have them. Far better than having unwanted kids living with parents that inwardly resent their intrusion. Just as I applaud your decision, I hope that you applaud my decision to have children and to love them and to raise them in a healthy and nurturing environment where I didn't care about the money and the time they took but considered it part of the overall love I gave them. They are now almost your age and are still a joy to me and I love the relationships and love I still share with them. Neither of them are married but are involved in serious relationships. Maybe they will or maybe they won't have children of their own. They shouldn't if their reasons echo your friend's or they should if they want to and are able to share their lives with a new life. Either decision is all good. |
