| | Amy,
I haven't a clue where you can find the time. But I applaud you for considering another big and worthy project.

| | Amy - you're in PA, right? I found this site with a google search. Might be a place to start.
Terrific cause to take up. |

| | I see you got an answer from Sara already. Enjoy it - I do this in my area and I love it. It takes up about 4 hours of my time each week, but here you only give the time you can (no mandatory time requirement).

| | I am a literacy volunteer in my town. I work 30 hours a week and love every minute of it. My pay consists of seeing a grown man able to sign his name in cursive for the first time, a proud recipient of a GED, a student becoming proficient in math who was so certain they could never learn math, a mentally challenged adult who is learning to write their thoughts on paper for the first time.
Follow through with your quest. It will be most rewarding to you.

| | I'm the game show host for a local fundraiser for the library's literacy programme here. It starts on April 8 -- anyone in the Bloomington, Indiana area can get it on cable access television. |

| | I worked with a Laubach group locally. The benefits are legion, though the frustrations are nearly as great.
If anyone can't find something online about their area, try the library. That's where I got hooked up with the program (actually, through my aunt who runs it).

| | I would love to hear from those who work in literacy. I am very interested in your methods of fund raising. We have a yearly Scrabblethon. We also have 2 book fairs each year.
Thanks in advance!
