Blogathon 2002

Greetings folks. Wasn't sure which category to put this in, so I thought I'd start here and incur the wrath-love of those that would have to move it somewhere else. (Kissy kissy!)

Anyway, , the reason why I haven't posted as much here recently is because I've been focusing on putting materials up on my personal weblog, Amish Tech Support. I suppose this is both a good andbad thing:

Good; Keeps the psycho-raving-loony anti-Islamist rants out of the ordinary debate.
Bad: It ain't here.

However, I do my best to post some of the more moderate or ha-ha stuff or updates on my weight loss progress.

I thougt I'd try to do some GOOD with the weblog with the Blogathon 2002 at http://www.blogathon.org/

I'm raising money for Magen David Adom, which is the Red Star of David of Israel. The Internetional Red Cross does their darndest to treat them like dirt and disparage them, even though they're quite possibly the bravest and toughest and most endangered branch of that organization on the planet.

When was the last time you heard of people firing at American Red Cross Ambulances of needing to armor their vehicles?

Anyway, on July 27th at 06:00 Tulsa Time I start posting once every 30 minutes. And since my posts are usually long and quite close to hitting the high standards of humor, I figured I'd suffer my inner demons and rant and joke for a good cause.

Take a look, think it over, and then look back and everything you've posted here in frustration that you can't do anything about what's going on over there.

This is my way of providing some way, any way to try to help.

Another weblogger, Meryl Yourish, is blogging for Shaare Zedek, which is where most of the victims of Arafat's terror are taken once M.D.A. tries to rescue them. Yet another worthy cause.

Think it over.

(PS: Even if you don't pledge, I consider that a good thing because you're not giving anything to Amnesty International, either. They do their darndest to try to *free* the plotters, murderers, and killers so that M.D.A. and Shaare Zedek have to pick up the shattered lives and try to put something back together. All the while, Zimbabwe starved and A.I. turns its back on those that suffer there, black and white. Apparently, it's only evil enough for AI to get involved when whites can be slapped with a label of apartheid... racist hypocrites!)

Both Magen David Adom and Sha'are Tzedek are fine causes, which sadly need all the financial support they can get these days.

I've raise $1,473 for Magen David Adom.
Meryl has raised $1,778 for Shaare Zedek.

We're #2 and #3 right now. Some high-volume code guy jumped in and has gotten $5,000 for Doctors Without Borders.

Both Meryl and I are over $2,000 for our causes. Thank you to all the EA members that have contributed.

My weblog is at http://users2.ev1.net/~file13/blog/ if you're interested in watching me grind myself up with 48 posts in 24 hours.

I'll have my cam and Trillian going.
