| | | Congrats to Tipu, our first member to crank out 1000 work units for the team!
How long did it take you to hit that mark, George?
Oh, and we're now up to position 139, two slots behind The Lab! |

| Wow. You are motoring. Look out, File.
When I get my faster computer, it might take weeks to move over my files. During that time, of course, I'll be able to use both computers to sort genomes, and then you can eat my dust.
Until then, wow!

So, have we topped out at 17 virtual members, or is there anybody else ready to join the fray? |

Here's the question, is anyone other than those who have signed up already reading this thread? I think it was Amy who suggested we start PMing and begging.
I'd suggest a contest, but I can't figure out how to do a contest that doesn't rely solely on the computing powers each person has access to. Anyone else have any ideas?

| | How about a contest to see who can get the most ACTIVE new members signed on to the team?
I am willing to put up an Amazon gift certificate.
If somebody signs up at Genome on our team because you asked them to, and they send me an email stating that fact, that will count towards your referals.
At the end of October, whoever has referred the MOST active team members wins the prize.
Amy

| | You may have a lot more members than you think. I joined a couple of days ago, but my ancient computer hasn't crunched 30 items yet, so I'm not listed. I gather you're not listed until you upload. Makes sense to me -- why would they want to clutter their system with a bunch of zeros.
At least with me involved, the rest of you will always have someone to look down to.

| | I'm thinking it was Grace's idea so she should get the hits too.
(who's workin' for ya, Grace?)
And pay no attention to the fact that I now have 2 sessions running as well. That has nothing to do with my competitive nature. Maybe it has something to do with MAKING THE LAB EAT OUR DUST, but the entire thing is for a good cause. |

| | Grace? Is it you for real?
I'm talking about the sweetie that's crunching genes and uploading them under my name.
*I've* uploaded 5 genes in the last 2 days, which is a little weird considering that my computer is still running through the same set that I downloaded 2 days ago.
So.....
Someone's being a sweetie.

When I get back at Noon today I'll tell it to upload its latest and grab more. Sorry for letting everyone down in the greatest time of need. (waah waah waah)
