| | Sometime yesterday, we slipped into slot 113, surpassing joubert's statistically magicked prediction of 114 by Monday. Yea Team!

| | Well, since JoeSchmoe didn't present much of a challenge, I think Grace wanted to go for Abyss (#86); they're moving up, but at a slower rate than we are. Also we passed 10,000 units processed today!

| | Ya know, trying to overtake Armegeddon or the Abyss simply has a chilling ring to it.
But hey, I've never claimed to be wise. I say we go for it.

| | We haven't overtaken either yet, but when I checked a few minutes ago, we were #101. Team, we're about to crack the top 100 and that is cause for celebration!

| | | If everybody maintains the same production rates, based on current daily production rates:
Monday #99
Tuesday #98
Wednesday #94
Thursday #91
Friday #90
- - - - - - - -
Based on current weekly production rates:
9/26/2001: #91
10/3/2001: #81
10/10/2001: #76
10/17/2001: #70
10/24/2001: #66
SmartPipes is the team we're chasing at this rate.
* Daily and weekly production rates differ due to daily variations in production, Tipu having a cold, etc. |

| | 99! 99!
Has anyone else had problems with their program? My home computer program won't run anymore. As soon as I get a half hour's worth of time I'm going to uninstall and reinstall. Right now I get a bunch of garbled error messages every time I try to run it.

| | | Even though I switched from 2000 to ME, mine's still running. Weird thing is, it doesn't cache a set of "fallback" genes to digest when it's connected and first started up. Ends up stalling at the download stage.
I've set my system to automatically connect, download, and drop for now. |

| | I had a similar problem last week. The program kept closing for no apparent reason. I finally had to dump what I was working on, download a whole new protein and start over on that sequence.
(I believe that was the day Katherine almost caught me) |

| | Here's a race that has my interest:
Team Rank # 8: file13 with 50 genes, 772.89 work units
Team Rank # 9: hypotenuse with 49 genes, 772.26 work units
You two have been trading the lead for 8th spot several times.
Very exciting.

Meanwhile, some computer problems here caused a certain coffee drinker to pass me. (sigh) |

| | I like this one better:
a2plusb2 787.71 units 50 genes
file13 772.89 units 50 genes
Uploaded one this morning, just took them a bit to count it.
And of course I'll come in ahead of that ol' dust bin.
Sheesh.

Lynne - who would like to point out to file that the concept behind this project is the power of combined computing | Golly, then everybody ought to be using ONE account and not break it out by user or team. And the world will be as one, as John Lennon sings.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm busy trying to imagine there's no heaven or hell below us. |
