| | Through the addition of more users, and the mysterious absence of file13, I am closing in on the upper half of the team.
Last weekend, I had the use of 2 fast computers, so I was able to make up quite a bit of ground on you two.
This machine I'm using now does roll through the genes a lot faster than the older one.
All to help the team as a whole, of course.

| | Well... I am not sure when it happened, but we broke 1000... currently 1025. Yay team!
(also notice the addition of Monical2me, whom I referred and who has posted her first two genes this weekend)
Go team, go! |

| | Slick -- I haven't encountered the problem yet. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? Just an idea.
All -- Abyss is ahead of us... they are 80 and we are still 82... however, they have only made 1000 genes, and we have made 1027. So, depending on what you are looking at, we could be considered "ahead". They may have made bigger genes than us, but we still made more of them.
Let's kick some abyss-bootie! |

| | Oh... I thought I told you all who our new teammate was... but I put down her epinions name, and not the name she used for genomeathome. Sorry for the confusion! |

| | I think ultimately we need to go after smartpipes... they are the only ones coming up who are rising at as competetive a rate as we are. Maybe we need an interim target, however. What do ya'll think?
Edited to add: WTG TEAM!  |

| | | What if we go after VSC for now. Because our rates of production is so close to that of SmartPipes, it's going to take a month or more to catch them. (Unless we can get some more people to join!)
VSC is a goal that we can attain in a couple of weeks. |

| | Ok... VSC it is. We beat the virtual pets in the bat of an eyelash, and the Genome Crazies will be just as easy.
Actually, most of these teams are pretty easy. They are moving at a slow pace (if at all), so as long as our rates don't drop significantly, we will get to VSC in time. |

| | We need to keep an eye on OldDrunkenBastards as well. They are moving at a fantastic rate.
I want to go after Buffy_in_leather for no apparent reason. I just like the name. And they're only five spots ahead of VSC.

| | Hey, not that I am in competetive mode or anything, but another one bites the dust. And we will conquer Scotland soon too.
And, since I am not competetive, or anything, can someone tell me a way to graph our team by the over all genes created as well as the genes created in the last week? There has got to be a way. Not that, you know, I am competeting with anyone on our team, or anything. You know, cause "teamwork helps us win together." And competing with one another helps us to kick our competition's butt too!
(I'm at least a month behind you guys, but I am catching up, I swear. Don't tell me people are losing interest just as I am really getting going!) |

| | Just wait'll I get to my Mom's house and see if she'll let me use her computer too First though I gotta figure out how to make mine automatically connect when it's done with one. I hate knowing that it's gonna get done with one two hours after I go to sleep and I miss out on six hours of number crunching before I can get the next one. |

| | Flamepillar, have you completed a sequence yet? If so, are you on our team and what name did you sign up under?
The way it's been working for me is that it has a sequence ready to go when one finishes. It stores the first sequence and starts working on the second. When I log on, I upload the results and it downloads another sequence which will start when the current one completes. Has anyone else had a different experience?
Deb

| | Yay Queenie! You won't show up on our team until you complete a gene, and the site does it's update. It updates every 3 hours. So, about 12:23, 3:23, 6:23... etc. All Cali time, unfortunately, so if you are out here on the east with me you will be confused!
I also have broadband, so my genes should automatically upload, however, I noticed last night that my gene was done before an update, and did not show. However, in the next update it did show. So, if you fear you are not getting credit for your genes, fear not. You'll get it the next time around.
Good luck, and feel free to ask any ?s you have. God knows I've asked my share. |

| | I was gonna leave it a mystery and just shoot that "YEA-HOOO" post in there as a subtle clue to who Ride-The-Cliche was; well, as you've probably guessed, that's me Welcome to the party, Val |

| | Yeah, according to genome at home's stats we are kicking major butt. However, according to statman, we didn't change much (if at all). Me thinks statman might not be updated yet, because as much as I reload, we are in 76th place. Hmmm... |

| | It finally updated, however, very late for the 3 hour updates. I guess that shows that while it's usually very regular in the three hour cycle, sometimes it is very late (even 6 hours or so). I guess the moral to the story is to look at when the last update was before you look at the team's stats. |

| | Well, I can't say I am not trying, Lynne. I wish I could whiz by you!
However, right now my goal is only to get into the top ten, and Deb is trying her best not to let me. Sorry Deb, you and Larry are the next targets on the Genome is right. It might take me a little time, but I'll get you my pretties.
All for the good of the team, of course.
All my other goals have been accomplished -- getting out of last place, cracking the top 20, cracking the top 15... beating a few people in between. You're all going down, it's just a matter of time!
Again, all for the good of the team, of course.
I only wish you all didn't have one months worth of work advantage over me. |
