As a South Florida resident, I can't help but glue myself to the TV when hurricanes hit. I was very lucky this time, Hurricane Charley missed my area totally, however, so many others weren't nearly as lucky as I. With at least 19 dead, many still missing, over $11 billion in damage, hundreds of thousands homeless or without power or water, this storm was a nasty one.
At least 19 people dead; searches could take weeks, officials say
After any natural disaster, there are many people who need our help, and while most of us want to help, we're not always in a position to help everyone.
Living in S. Florida, I have donation spots where I can donate food, water and clothing. If any of you are inclined to help, and are in a position to do so, please donate what you can.
Here is a link to a
Red Cross Site where you can find out ways to donate.
Thank you.
