Last Valentine's Day EA launched a charitable drive that spurred the donation of 3 gallons of blood. That accounted for a possible 192 lives saved through our efforts.
This year we are throwing heart and soles into saving even more lives through the combined efforts of Team EA and your generous support.
Who is Team EA?
If you've ventured into the Health and Fitness forum over the past month you've probably heard snippets about what we're doing. Allow me to tell you the whole story.
Team EA is comprised of 10 of us H&F loonies who realized that there are many more important things than whether or not we're happy with our figures, our cholesterol levels or our hairstyles. We've all been pretty fortunate to be aware, enlightened individuals with medical insurance. Which means that we are inclined to take care of ourselves as needed to maintain and preserve our good health.
Not everyone is similarly blessed. This realization has led us to the decision to stop our whining about trivial health matters and do something significant to help those without the knowledge or resources to help themselves. Okay, so we're still whining, but we
are doing something now to balance out the negative energy.
The Avon 3•Day Breast Cancer Walk
The 10 of us are putting our money where our feet are. We will be meeting in New York in October (many of us for the first time) and joining 4000 other men and women in a 60 mile, 3 day walk to draw attention to the need for early breast cancer detection and the generation of critical funding for clinical, educational and research programs for underserved women at risk.
42,000 women die each year in this country because their breast cancer remained undetected during the crucial early stage. The proper programs would prevent most of these untimely deaths. We're walking to help ensure that these programs are developed and sustained.
We need your support
Walking 60 miles is not something that comes naturally to any of us. We'll each be undergoing intense physical training to be able to accomplish this goal. Your moral support would help us a great deal.
In addition to the act of walking, each of us has committed to raising a substantial amount of money to fund the lifesaving programs so desperately needed. Your financial support will help us a great deal too.
Please pay a visit, if you would, to the
Team EA website to learn more about what we're doing, why we're doing it, and how you can help. The site is a work in progress, so stop in every so often to read about our ongoing training and fundraising trials and successes. While you're there, please sign our guestbook so that we can all benefit from your good vibes.
If you choose to make a donation to this worthy cause, you may follow the instructions laid out on the site. If you have a special relationship with any of the walkers I encourage you to make your donation in her name. If you love us all equally

please email Sara at
teamea@easilyaddictive.com or pm me for the name of the team member who is next in line for some loving (each walker has a personal goal to achieve). We are all working as a team to assure that every team member realizes her dream of making a difference in the fight against breast cancer. Your donation, regardless of whose name it is entered in, will go a lot further than our combined 600 miles of walking.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any of the team members listed below.
Thank you for your support.
