I never realized how powerful some of the CL's are. I have a review with 21 VH's and only 1 H (from a CL) and the review is still an H not a VH. There's really nothing much I can do about the review to improve it to what the CL wanted so I'm leaving it to see if others agree with the H. If they do, I'll remove it and try again to cover the subject. My reason for this comment is my amazement at how many VH's it would take to change the H over. Wow! |

Do the WOTs still affect the influence of ratings by non-CLs?

I'm guessing yes. I've never really been into the wots, trusters part of epinions but I'm sure they do. Many of the people who rated have a great track record and career at epinions but, maybe like me, they have undevelped wots. Good thought and probably the main reason. I'd forgotten about that aspect of it. |

Yes, I asked. It wasn't so much the review as much as the bias on my part and a questioning of my intimate knowledge of the magazine. Both of these things are difficult to change for a better rating which is why I decided to let it ride as is and see how the ratings from others affect it.
And, it is indeed now a VH. The 25th rating was done by an advisor in the category and they went with a VH. This kind of backs up what tom has been saying if I understood what he said correctly (I'm not very good at the scientific method

What it might be is that a review only can be a certain rating if an advisor has rated it such (if advisors have rated it at all). I see another review in which a CL and a couple of regular members have been 'outruled' by five advisors and five regular members.
