The wolves howl in the desolate background
The owl screeches eerily above my head
This is the kind of night that makes you feel hell bound
Kind of like the night and evil wed.
A kind of night that makes me uneasy to be alone
So dark the night feels like a blanket covering me
So deathly cold I feel chilled to the bone
So dark I can't see in front of me,
No moon shining down so I can see
For daylight I would pay a few
It is like I have to feel my way step by step
Unlock the darkness help me find the key.
Wishing I could feel the sunshine on my face
But all I can feel is dampness and a chill
All I can see is darkness' black lace
The blackness seems it's overflowing it may even spill.
Nothing I can do to change the darkness in the night
Needing to face my fears of the devilish black
The dark and blackness give me an ungodly fright
Courage against the black I lack.
