My four boys usually get along so beautifully - we've had more comments about their devotion to each other. However, every once in a while, I wonder what I've been raising!
Last week, my four year old kept my poor, dreamy six year old in tears for an entire day. He got up in the morning, and told his borther:"I am not Shlomo Yehudah. I killed Shlomo Yehudah, and I am a droid that looks just like him. I am not your brother!"
Moshe Yaakov came running upstairs, and I could hear him before I could see him. He was just sobbing, and said that he was sad because he didn't have a baby brother any more. When I asked him who was standing next to him, he gave me the whole explanation about the droid, etc. When I tried to convince him that it wasn't true, Shlomo Yehudah said,"It's not true. I am a droid. I programmed Mama to say that."
Of course, at this point, poor Moshe Yaakov completely lost it, and wouldn't be comforted. For the rest of the day, every time we started to do something, like have lunch, the "droid" insisted that only Shlomo Yehudah liked jam sandwiches...only Shlomo Yehudah liked to wear boots to the park...and of course, the "droid" mentioned that he really didn't need to be strapped into Shlomo Yehudah's carseat.
I spent an entire day trying to get Moshe Yaakov to believe that his brother was just being mean - and of course, Shlomo Yehudah spent even more time 'proving' that he was a droid.
What do your kids do to drive each other crazy, and drive you absolutely around the bend??
