| | Help! I've turned into Martha Stewart! | | Kevin bought me two new bookcases! I am so excited. I began putting all of the books into their new home, and now there are nearly no piles in our living room. I even found something which had gone missing - my foot stool
After this, I decided to move a small bookcase upstairs to my room. RAther than leave it the absolutely unholy shade of yellow that it was when someone gave it to us, I painted it to match my room (you all can't imagine how creative I felt!)
Now, I am afraid that I am going to start folding napkins into amusing shapes and putting flower petals into my ice-cube tray.
What other symptoms should I be on the look-out for?

| | Turning paper lunch bags into lanterns to line the walk...
Having wax paper or parchment paper in your kitchen at all...
Starting to talk in mellifluous tones about the sugared pansies on the cake that are safe to eat...

However, if you start saying, "It's a good thing." I'm going to start saying, "It was nice knowing you, Martha." |

| | IT depends...
elephant garlic is nice raw in a asalad, because it is milder. As for wooden stakes, pressure treated cedar is probably the way to go, regular cedar would rot too quickly.

If not, there is hope for you yet.

| | Other signs, dear Cindy...
You say peh CAHHHNNS as opposed to Peekins'
You start to pose for pictures with your head tilted slightly down and to one side (bangs dipping to hide the 666 on your foreheard are preferable)
You actually buy gold leaf for anything.
You use the gold leaf to decorate children's easter eggs (she did this for real!!!)
Instead of using the royal "we" you have begun to use the royal "I"
Check your feet for garden clogs.

| | Here's a way to check, Cindy!
If you used latex paint, you're not turning into Martha Stewart.
Martha Stewart never does anything simply if she can do it complicated. |

| | Well, I don't know Fraz -- instead of mining the gold and then melting it down for Gold Leaf, she did actually go to a "finer" craft supply shop and buy some.

| I've never heard a single person say "peekins".
Martha Stewart is from Ct, as am I. That is probably a regional thing. Everyone says peh CAHHHHNNS around here. Actually, it's more like pee-CAHHHNS.
Now, if you start making your own cheese by sticking perfectly good yogurt into cheese cloth and letting its juices drain off, you have a problem. (That episode skeeved me). |

| Margaret, in the NW corner, half of us say pee-CAHHHNS and half say pee-cans. I'm not saying which half I'm in.
Pecan pie sounded very tasty until I typed it phonetically. :p
But "skeeve"? That's gotta be a regional thing too. I've heard it used only by folks from the upper right quadrant of the country.
