REcently, a friend had some spare butterfly eggs hanging around and kindly gave some to me. Since I received them, I have been clucking over them and checking them every day to see if they'd hatched.
This afternoon, the big day finally arrived- I was a butterfly mom. For about a minute. I hadn't noticed Moody, our one-eyed Siamese, who was hanging out on my bed. He stood up and glanced at the tiny new hatchlings in my hand, licked and gulped. 
They were here for only a second- it happened so fast! Here, then gone. Present, then digested. Quote: | Wanted: good home for Satan's own cat. Must have no knicknacks, must not wear stockings, and must not own anything small enough to swallow. |
