This is for Joan. Because she actually thinks the little squib is charming.
The boys and I went to the Gay Pride parade yesterday. #4 started working the crowd, typical for any time we let him out of the house. #1 leaned over and said,"Boy did he ever pick the wrong bunch of women to charm!".
That #1 is pretty darned funny. #4 had an entire pickup truck of lesbians in biker shirts just ooh-ing and aah-ing over him, the little squeak. He got the ball rolling by walking right up to the float (these were women in the parade) and saying,"I'm in favour of gay rights, because I am in favour of human rights. And, in case you hadn't noticed, I am a human. Are you in favour of gay rights, too?"
Then came the flatbed truck carrying exercise equipment and plenty of ripped young men using the weights etc. #4 waved and shouted, "Keep pushing, keep pushing, hold...hold....good lift!" and began clapping. Sigh.
His haul for the day: a hat, two t-shirts, two beach balls, and a red AIDS awareness ribbon. He gave his rainbow ribbon to Libby. Even Libs was charmed. #1 and I went home grumbling under our breaths.
