| | #1 and 2 went out for the day yesterday, to have some good male-bonding time with our friend Gary, and his friend Russ. Russ is, according to #2, a god. Russ takes them to do cool guy stuff, and watches guy movies with them.
So, for yesterday's fun, three words:
bows and arrows.
Russ took them to an archery range. My Horsemen, armed with bows and arrows! I am much greyer today.
Oh- wait! I forgot to mention the other three words:
swords
motorcycles
Hooters
Russ let #1 work on his old motorcycle which did not work. #1 has it running and needs to fix one more thing before it runs smoothly. Or so I am told. Then, Russ let the boys look at his sword-making room. And gave #2 an absolutely enourmous sword. Like, 4 feet tall. It isn't a sharp sword, it's a period piece used by SCA guys.
Then, of course, after all of this merriment, they were hungry. Russ asked them if they would like to eat at Steak and Shake. #2 was jubilant, #1 not so much. Then, Logan's steakhouse was suggested, and everyone agreed, but it was lukewarm. Then Russ said,"Or, we could eat at Hooters...?" which was, so I am told, met with loud cheers and glad cries. Oy.
Needless to say, by the time they arrived back home, they were swaggering, carrying the sword and were doing everything except spitting and scratching things which ought never to be scratched in public. Remind me again why I wanted a big batch of boys? |

I have a vision! Funny!
Aren't you glad that they're bonding, though? |

My weekend pales in comparison. Even with Bug getting himself dressed up like a Latino gangbanger today. I should have taken pictures.
I got him to greet G with "Hey, jefe" |

| | Re Those three little words | | Just sighed and shook his head. I think my dad was more frightened when we went over there.
Child dressed HIMSELF! Knit cap (with a flaming skull on it), huge t-shirt (with Lightning McQueen... hey, he's three), baggy pants, flannel overshirt. |

| | Re Those three little words | | Whenever Rory sees, and then says, "motorcycle" I always respond with "Very dangerous." Of course, in my head I'm adding "And so are the boys who ride them!" I've at least gotten Rory to the point where after I say "very dangerous" she says "No ride." I'm hoping that early imprinting will keep her away from motorcycles but I've probably sown the seeds of rebellion.

| | Re Those three little words | | Naomi, shouldI tell you this? I always said that to #1, too, ever since he was 3. When he was three, we were walking dowtown to a carnival, and a bike pulled up at the curb next to us. #1 fell head over heels right at that moment - he still remembers that. He ran up to the guy riding it (oy - braided beard, leathers, a Harley...) and said,"I like that!" and pointed at the bike. The man reached down, picked him up and placed him on the bike. He let #1 rev the engine and honk the horn. #1 was smitten. I began going grey. | | |
