| | After over a year of begging and pleading, #4 and his evil kabal aka the other Horsemen finally persuaded me to allow him to shave it all off. I told him it will be a one-time shot. I told myself that shot could be tequila. Here is the new look:
Here is the entire event recorded for posterity: Hair today, gone tomorrow
Note: When Russ got out the straight razor to get the more stubborn bits, I left without photos. It was more than I could handle to watch someone playing 'Sweeney Todd' with my baby. |

| | Re The unkindest cut of all | | Okay, what's the tattoo on his arm, and please tell me it's a temporary tattoo!
The cut's not bad. Bald men I'm used to these days, but bald kids does look a little odd. But it's not bad. He's still just as cute as ever!

| | Re The unkindest cut of all | | I know. And also,
This supposedly makes up for being bitten by a horse, a crawdad, and a clam, and being sliced open by a clam, a snail and a squirt gun. And also being hit in the head by a golf club, a car door, a swing, and a teeter-totter. #4 had a hard vacation. |

| | Re The unkindest cut of all | | Do you think he was inspired by his big brother's Marine haircut? (Has he seen pictures of that yet?)
He looks really cute, and I feel pretty confident that he'll be happy to have hair again when winter comes. |

| | Re The unkindest cut of all | | It is hair Cindy, it does grow back. The first time my son shaved his head he was a freshman in college. It was a Sat. night head shaving party in the lounge of the dorm. He was coming home the following weekend. Marissa sent me pictures so I didn't faint on the spot. I screamed when I saw the pics.
It is a shock, and I am not used to it at all. But it is a boy thing, and sooner or later most of them do it!
Your son does look cute. He is still young enough to look cute in this haircut!!

| | Re The unkindest cut of all | | Meh. Jeremy shaves his head every year. Remember that mop he had when we visited? Gone with a #1 blade the first week of June. Hubby was rather pissed because it was right before his uncle's funeral and Jer looked slightly like a convict, but what the heck. It's just hair.
I think #4 looks cute. And you have my permission to tell him so.

| | Re The unkindest cut of all | | Don't send him here. He'd probably come back dyed, pierced, and tattoo'd. I'm pretty liberal when it comes to hair. |

| | Re The unkindest cut of all | | Oh, he's already trying to negotiate a tat (on his head, FCOL!) because it won't show until he's an adult and can shave his head whenever he wants. Ixnay on the tat. And he's offering to grow it out if I allow him to dye it blond. Or bright blue. |

| | Re The unkindest cut of all | | None of mine have shaved their heads yet, but my middle child comes very close. He likes the almost skinhead look.
When he was 8, he had it done for the first time. He was still in school at the time. One kid made fun of him the first day, but by the end of the week, almost all the boys in his class came in with the same haircut. Those who didn't got teased.
I think it looks really cute -- and much cooler than hair. Every so often I'm tempted myself.

| | Re The unkindest cut of all | | ROFL, Sara. Last year at the Marine Parents conference, I met a young Marine who was recuperating - he'd been shot and it left a nasty scar. He had a target tattoed around it.
Cindy, he's heartbreakingly cute, with or without hair.
