| | #2 rolls his eyes and grumbles under his breath when I say "NoiseFest". But, guess where he's persuaded his brother to take him? I'll give you a hint:
Either you've realized that I have finally lost my remaining marble, or you're still confused. Here's another hint:
Yep, it's true. #'s 1 and 2 are going off to... Ozzfest! A big 12 hours of loud, hairy and practically unknown men singing. Or something. #1 gets huge points for agreeing to go to this. He's got a pocket full of heavy-duty earplugs. #2 has concert earplugs, too, and #1 has orders to drag him kicking and screaming out of the concert if he even thinks about removing them. yes, I really am that mean. My big act of kindness was to buy the flesh coloured earplugs instead of the screaming orange ones. Because I am just that nice.
#2 has been up for hours and chose his ensemble last night - his favourite jeans and his 'Joss Whelen Is My New Master' t-shirt. #1, of course, is wearing his favourite Western shirt with the pearl-snap buttons and his new cowboy boots. I'm sure that they'll have something exciting to report when they get back home. I just hope #1 is still speaking to me. |

| | Well, I didn't dress him! And of course, as soon as #2 saw him and announced that He Was Just Going To Die Of Embarrassment If #1 Insisted On Wearing Those Clothes, #1 just couldn't be stopped. |

| | OMG. I can see it now... #2 breaks out the guyliner as soon as he's out of the house and spends the entire day rolling his eyes at #1, who looks around like he's been transplanted to Mars.
I wish they had a video camera. |

Apparently not so much. I've heard of Ozzy - he's the Black Sabbath guy, right? And his wife Sharon was on 'America's Got Talent'. I never heard of anyone else who's playing, which is probably a Good Thing. And I agree, Leslie, I think both kids are going to have a blast!. Hopefully without guyliner. |

| | Note to self. Need to have talk with Horsemen. "what happens at Ozz-fest, stays at Ozz-fest"
Too late for this year.

| | Ok, so without having gotten the official debriefing, I've heard a bit. The concert started at 12, was supposed to last until 11:30 p.m. #2 told me not to expect them until after 1 a.m., and that sounded reasonable.
The two little guys and I went to a birthday party at Helen's house. Her oldest grandson turned 5 today. We arrived at 4. #1 and 2 arrived at 6.
I was surprised to say the least. I went right for #1 - I was afraid that he'd thrown in the towel and made #2 angry. But no - #2 wanted to come back home. You know how when a dog chases a car, if the car stops the dog suddenly doesn't have an idea of what to do next, because the dog really only wanted to chase the car, not catch it? Yep. That would be #2. He left because:
the music was too loud
there were a lot of people pushing each other
there were a lot of people smoking marijuana
He absolutely could not believe that all of those things were true, and he's mightily disappointed in his fellow metal fans. I really tried not to laugh.
All morning as he was getting ready to go, it started occuring to #2 that he was going to miss Tunde's birthday party. We haven't missed any since he's been born, and all of a sudden #2 started getting...emotional. Not weepy, though. Not that at all. So, I think that when he got to the concert and started feeling a bit overwhelemd, he felt really homesick and wanted to be able to spend time at the birthday party with Helen's family. It's sort of hard to be rought and tough and filled with angst when you also really want to help blow up balloons and play with cars. |

| | OMG. I'm sorry... maybe country music is different but I can't think of a single show I've been to (well, other than Sesame Street Live) where people haven't been smoking weed. So much so that it didn't even enter my mind as something anyone would find shocking. I think maybe I should have gotten out LESS at #2's age. |

Personally, I'd rather be around smokers. They're much less obnoxious.

| | I'm with Judy on the drunks v. potheads crowd. And I have asthma.
Well, I'm sorry he had his bubble burst...but did he get to see any good groups that he was looking forward to? I hope this didn't ruin him for concerts forever!! | |
