| | Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | Threads where I made the last post don't seem to be showing up in the list. I have to go to the individual forum to find the thread. |

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | Oh, I see. This is very confusing! I liked the old system better.
Often I like to go back and edit a post -- I think of something else right after I wrote it (like now!) that I want to add.
Or I click on a thread but don't actually get around to reading it at the time.
Or I open up a bunch of threads in tabbed windows, and close some of them up later by mistake before having read them.
Or I just glance quickly at a thread and plan to go back to read it through later. |

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | I think you'll get used to it and like this more eventually. Especially if you have a large list of threads to work through after a vacation. New Posts no longer time out on you.

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | The only way I can see to use this is to go into individual forums to get the lists, which takes a lot more clicking around. Plus I would have to remember which forums I had posted in, and which forums I had opened threads in which I hadn't finished reading, in order to know which forums to bring up. |

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | Oh, another situation I thought of -- often I like to read a thread, and then post an answer to it later. But now the thread won't be on the "new posts" list, and I would have to (1) remember that I had wanted to go back to the thread without having the visual prompt of seeing it on the "new posts" list to remind me, and (2) go find it, either using "search" or hunting for the forum that it's in. |

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | You still have access to the list of older threads. The thread would have disappeared from the getnew list within 15 minutes of your posting it anyway.

| Oh, I see, the other "get thread list" options still show the complete lists.
I'm going to try changing my bookmark from "get new" to "get daily." |

You're right, Amy. I really like this new system now. It shows really "new" stuff, and I can go back to the 15 minute, 1 hour, etc method to see the old way. You didn't take anything away - you just gave us more options! It's like Christmas in July!
Thanks! |

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | The new system blows the old one out of the water for a number of reasons. Now I don't have to be careful about hitting the site by mistake and having it forget which new threads I've not read. That was happening to me a lot, and I would miss replies now and again.
Thanks, Amy.

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | Glad you like it I really miss it now when I surf at older vbulletin sites.
For the record, I hated it too when I first saw it.

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | All right, grumble grumble, I'm getting used to it. It helps knowing that if I click on one of the other search-for-posts buttons I can get a list that shows all of the posts, just the way the "new posts" button used to, something that I didn't know when I first saw the change. And I do hate change! Plus I don't want to hear people telling me that I am going to grow to like the change, when I don't like it ... even if it does turn out eventually to be true that I do grow to like it later. Grumble grumble. |

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | Sometimes I hit the "8 hour" list only to find things posted hours ago that I missed, didn't read, and aren't showing up on New Posts.
Sometimes when I go to "go to first unread post," it takes me to the last post in the thread, even if I hadn't read the few posts before the last.

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | OK. I was on at home until about 7:30 this morning. I came to work. I logged on just now (about 10:15) and hit "All" on the new posts option. It told me there were no new posts. I went back to Forums and clicked "8 hours." It brought up 15 posts, 13 of which had new posts that I hadn't read. So I'm not sure what the "All" button on the New Posts menu is supposed to do.

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | The thing I'm having trouble getting used to is threads disappearing off the "new posts" lists if I've read all the posts in the thread. They used to stay on until new posts timed out, but you could tell the difference between posts you'd read and not read by whether they were bold or not. I was really going crazy last night trying to figure out where a new thread that I had posted had gone - since nobody had replied, but I had posted, it didn't show up in the list at all and I thought it had disappeared. Plus, I'm like somebody else, sometimes I don't think of a reply until a few minutes later, and if the thread disappears off the list, I can't find it.
Just my take on it.

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | I had the same problem, Melanie, until I realized that I still had the other search options - last 15 minutes, last hour, last day etc.
At first I really didn't like the new system - now I LOVE it.
Use the old buttons if they are easier, but give the new ones some time. |

| | Re Things not showing up in "new posts" list? | | I guess I really AM starting to get used to it. Melanie -- try hitting the "1 hour" button to get a list that includes all the threads that you recently looked at or posted on. |
