Don't know what you're talking about, Erik - works the same for me as it always has.

It also erases multiple links, at least for me. It only shows the top one. |

| | Re The new URL parsing "feature"... | | Why would you care? I'm not saying it's good or bad. I think 99% of the public won't care or notice and I'm not sure how it impacts anyone use of the system. Not being critical, Erik. In plain language, I just don't know you would care.
I'm not a big fan of the colors, but (shrug), they are what they are. |

| | Re The new URL parsing "feature"... | | Colors mean squat to me. But this "feature" modifies the text of what I'm trying to say. |

| | Re The new URL parsing "feature"... | | I'm sorry, I'm really lost. We're talking about the URL,right? In this thread, the relevant section would be : Quote: |
44883-new-url-parsing-feature.html
| Or is it a different one?
I'm sorry for being dense That's the only thing I can think of the URL being modified, and since the thread is a collaborative effort and your text isn't modified, why does it matter?
Like I said, I'm probably just missing in front of my face, but I don't see anything that "modifies the text of what [you're] trying to say.
Not picking a fight, just trying to understand. |

| | Re The new URL parsing "feature"... | | George, when you post a link with text in it, it can go and replace that text with the name of the page you are linking to. I need to check the settings because what I WANT it to do is to replace that text only if you haven't entered text of your own.

Could've sworn it from the links I saw. |

| | Re The new URL parsing "feature"... | | Wait, wait, I think I've got it. You know how when you look at the top of a page, in that little blue bar, it usually has a title to it? Like the top of this page has the title of this thread, then a dash and EA Forums after it. I just clicked on an ad for Yahoo HotJobs in another window, and the top of the page has Yahoo Hot Jobs, Thousands of Jobs, etc.
So - Amy has put in a feature that when you include a URL, it grabs that little title from that page, and makes it the text for that link, instead of just having a blahbitty-blah URL. Right? Oh, please tell me I'm right!

| | Re The new URL parsing "feature"... | | The problem arises with said nifty feature when you'd rather put your own witty comments as the link, instead of a pre-fab page title. |

Um, I just typed my witty comment ("test") as the link and it worked just fine.
