On , you can type alt-2 on EA to bring up the new posts.
On a mac, it's ctrl-2
No need to reach for the mouse

alt-m on windows and ctrl-m on mac will mark the forums read for you.

Ok... I resolved not to quibble. But the Mark As Read button is exactly where the New Posts button used to be, which would mean just getting used to the new spot... except that every day I'm also on the Lords of Legends forums, which has the New Posts button in the old spot. So it's going to not be an easy get-used-to situation for me at least, but if I'm the only one, then "nevermind!"

Alt-2 doesn't work for me, for some reason. The "getnew" URL shows up at the bottom of the screen where URLs show up, but it never actually engages and does anything.
Weird, huh?

For me (IE6) alt-2 brings me back up to the New Posts button - like if you were tabbing through the screen instead of using the mouse. So it's alt-2-enter.

The alt-2 shortcut will work on any vbulletin forum. The alt-m one only works here because Mark Read has to be visible for it to work and can't be hidden in the dropdown menu.

Yes, but I'll take one mouse click over three keystrokes any day, especially when I'm surfing instead of typing.

I'm using IE6, but it's in the JUNO browser, emulated off IE6, so that may be the problem.

I open each thread as its own window, so after I've posted, I close the window. I keep the forums page as my home base and click New Posts there after I've read/replied/closed all the thread windows I've opened to read. Rinse and repeat.
