Amy,
I was wondering if there is a way to change the smilies that automatically appear on the screen when you 'go advanced' for a reply. I don't have a working 'shift' key that works on my keyboard, so I end up having to pull up the big menu everytime and wait for the entire smilie menu to load to use one. I have also found that I, like most people, rarely use the ones that show up on the primary screen.

I hope this makes sense...

how do you use the shift key to find smilies?

Amy - we used to be able to customize the ones we use often - is that hard to redo?

I just memorize the codes for the ones I want.

shift key is needed to make the colon symbol. otherwise i only get ; so i can't memorize my smilies and just type them in. instead i have to go through the entire menu to find what i want.

Why doesn't your shift key work? Are you on a laptop or something?

Y'all know you have TWO shift keys, right? mebbe the other one works.

I wish I knew how to download the smilies to my computer so I can put them in emails without having to come here, go to the smilie menu, copy the smilie, then paste it in the body of the email.

lol- yes, i know there are 2 shift keys. neither works. i inherited this laptop from my father when he got a new one. when i got it, the shift keys worked sporadically, but now they don't work at all. sending emails is great fun. cut and paste is my friend. lol it had a secondary, usb keyboard, but the kids were playing with it and broke one of the wires going into the keyboard. the worst part is that it seems to be contagious. the 'a' key is starting to not work on occasion. soon i will only be able to say

and hope that i have an interpreter handy. lol

Leslie, I swear... Target has a USB keyboard for something like $8.00. As me how often the kids trash my keyboards that I know this.

G is still mad I didn't get that case of keyboards on W00t a while back.

What's worse... no shift key, or a regular keyboard?

I miss my natural keyboard, but it was getting too expensive to replace it every two seconds.

no usb keyboard at target, only the other port.... i will eventually go to best buy and get one...

Leslie, I promise. I'll see if I can find the one I got there. Almost no keyboards these days come only with a PS/2 port... it may have a converter to PS/2, but it's USB.

I'm pretty sure it's the GE Basic. It says Mac compatible, which means USB. I think it may come with a USB to PS/2 converter.

stores in different areas of the country carry different items. unless it has been added to the inventory in the last week or so, my stores do not carry it.
