I just caught up with sending my week's steps to Lynne.
Well, it should give us some real forward progress today!
(Meanwhile, I've barely taken time to enjoy California...I really need to remember and stop to smell the flowers.)
Ahhhhh, beautiful.
Andrea

| | Okay, I'm doing my bad Austin Powers impression here....
But we've come 527 miles and it's time to celebrate! Don't get yourself too comfy though...we've still got a long way to go!
So Amy...what's to do around here? I see we missed the Jimmy Buffet Tribute party last night. Darn. I'm a Parrothead from long back.
Talk amongst yourselves....and what's for dinner????
Lynn

| | There's a restaurant in Honolulu called Cheeseburger in Paradise. Unfortunately, I didn't make it there either year.

| | I cannot eat at Circus Circus. Their buffet is disgusting.
Alas, I have no alternative suggestions because my experience with fine dining in Reno was primarily limited to the Sizzler and the truck stop on McKaren Boulevard in Sparks (Sam's? Slim's).

| Well, I had breaded baked tofu slices for dinner. Last night I was out singing karaoke and had fish tacos and a beer.
Most of the restaurants I've been to around here are house o' beef chains, due to my husband's proclivity for those places where he can get a big hunk of meat: Claim Jumper, Outback. And we've been to the Cattlemen's down in Carson City. Michael Bros. Steakhouse was overpriced, but Sterlings at the Silver Legacy was pretty good, and Bricks on Virginia is too.

| | You're all welcome to come to my house and watch my movies on my big screen tv. That's about what passes for entertainment around these parts. I have a treadmill and karaoke set up in my basement, and plenty of root beer. I even have some leftover baked tofu and a bunch of cancer fighting broccoli sprouts. Yum!
Today we had a showing of Otherwise Engaged as performed by the UNR Nevada Repertory Company, and A Touch of Rodgers: Some Enchanted Evening presented by the Lyric Opera Theater at UNR. And there is the Nutcracker Ballet at the Reno Hilton. Unfortunately you missed the Scurvy Bastards at the Red Dog Saloon--that was last night.

| | Amy, thanks for hosting the rest stop last night. Sounds like Delia enjoyed the fare, although I'm not too much into tofu myself.
We've hightailed it out of Reno without being seen by Naomi's parents (sorry we drug up bad memories!!) and have gone through Great Basin National Park... Bristlecone Pines grow near treeline, living 5,000 years or more.
and are spending tonight in scenic Silver Springs, NV. Here's where we'll stop for dinner....looks good and they have veggie-style and a nice looking salad bar for our wormie friend.
569.5 miles down the road, BTW...for anyone who's keeping track.
Lynn

TheWorm needs a blanket when it goes below 78! It's supposed to be down to 20 degrees tonight! I hope we're not camping out in the park!!!!!! |

| | Lynn - No bad memories, I just don't want the guilt trip for not staying longer.
Will we have to camp out as we tromp across Nevada? It's kind of underpopulated.

--naomi | I'm not sure...we are heading toward Bullhead City, AZ, so it may be a little desolate. Pack your mylar just in case. Quote: Originally posted by theworm You're going to be a busy man, Slick - keeping 13 women satisfied! | If anyone can satisfy 13 women, I'm sure Slick can.....
