1-23-03 - Logging helps to keep you warm

Hi Friends! Most of us are suffering in the cold! Did you know that logging actually burns a few extra calories and can help to keep you warm! So join me in the log, and stay comfortable!

Also - for the record, I heard on the radio this morning that caffein is not good for us when it's cold. People tend to drink more hot beverages, but the caffein dehydrates us and that makes us colder. It's supposed to be better for us to drink herbal teas or chicken broth. Just wanted to share.

Didn't listen myself - I've started with a DD coffee w/ff condenced milk and a splash of half and half - 0.5 pts.

lynnzop will become famous soon enough

One diet mountain dew (caffeine)
One coffee with sf cocoa (caffeine)
One herbal lemon tea (no caffeine)

I'll go for the toast and peanut butter after I've thawed out my toes a bit. (Why oh why is the AC turned on in my building????)

Large salad with seeds and ranch dressing for 2 points. I really like the darker greens we have in the cafeteria - so much better than plain old iceburg lettuce! Added some tomato slices, broccoli, onions and it was :lick:

Also a slice of chicken pizza (6). Not quite so good for me, but it was good to eat!

Breakfast:
small bowl of cottage cheese
medium glass skim milk

Lunch:
ff yogurt
apple
carrots
16 oz. water

Doing well so far, but dinnertime and after was where I melted down yesterday. Here's hoping for the willpower to avoid temptation striking after the kids leave.

I'm already hungry for dinner.

I'm with you, Cindy! I probably have 2/3 of my daily calories after 7pm! I don't think it's health - although the leader at WW says it makes not difference. I'd like to believe her, but.....

It does make a difference. Eating should never be done after 7pm. Most people wind down in the evening and it's the worst time to nourish your body. If you don't eat after 7 and don't eat again until at least 7 the next morning, that's 12 hours w/out food and you have all night to burn fat. If you eat after 7, you risk the chance of your body not burning it off as fast unless you're super busy at night.

OK. At least for today, I'm trying that no-food-after-7:00 thing.

I need you guys to help me be accountable for dinner. I keep dutifully posting my breakfast and lunch, which are great, and then "forget" to log dinner and my multiple snacks. So here I go with today, which is better than yesterday.

Afternoon snack:
3 bite-size Snickers bars

Later afternoon snack:
4 chocolate chip popcorn cakes

Dinner:
3 taquitos
about 20 oz. of skim milk

(At lunch today, we were having a discussion about what food groups you couldn't live without. I was definitely in the minority for not being able to live without dairy. Do you know that if I go without milk for more than a day or two, I start to truly crave it.?)

Nothing since dinner.

Cindy

Screw the no food after 7 pm for me! Yesterday at WW we talked about realistic goals - that one is just not realistic for me! I finished my day with a healthy but large meal of:

veggie burger - 1.5 pts
roasted potato - 2 pts
baked beans - 3 pts
green beans - 0 pts
roll - 3 pts
ff ice cream cone - 3 pts

total for the day - 20 pts
