Whoopee for the Weekend - H&F Good Stuff 1/25 - 1/26

I'm not going to tell you the bug I have up my .... uh .... deirierre (however it's spelled ) today H&F-wise...I want to see if I can pull it off.

Got to do with snow, however. And something I haven't done in years. Good exercise too. Something Sara probably won't believe I can even do.

So what are YOU going to do today? Whatever it is, I hope it gets you off your rear, into gear, and that it's something you ENJOY.

Lynn

Cross-country skiing? Snowshoe-ing? Or are the hills in Iowa large enough for downhill skiing?

Does it involve plopping your "deirierre (however it's spelled )" on something really big and powerful and having an unbelievable ride? You go girl! Have fun!

Today I plan to do 20 minutes on my elliptical and 20 minutes of leg exercises. I already did 30 situps, but I think I might change it to 25 in the morning and 25 at night. My abs still hurt! I have exactly 14 days to tone up for a party we're going to. I want to look good and have enough strength to run and down the giant hill with the kids when we go sledding. Of course, I don't have warm gloves and it's been freezing; so sledding might not be on my list of things to do at the party.

I got my hair trimmed last night. I had more layers added. The girl tried to cut off as much of my blonde ends as possible from my bleaching experiment a year ago. I have shorter layers in the back and longer ones in the front. My hair looks good! I came home and colored it with it Herbal Essences #60 Bronze Ice. The color will fade off my ends, though. The color never takes over the bleach. This is my punishment for dropping out of cosmetology school.

Will edit later with whatever exercise I get accomplished.

I've never cross-country skiied (although I've always wanted to try!) or snowshoed (looks too complicated for me )

And yes, the hills ARE large enough to downhill (although they are laughable to anyone who's skiied in the mountains )

No, my deirierre stayed in the upright position all day!

Ding! Naomi wins the prize. I took my Bear downhill skiing - I haven't been since I blew my knee out on our honeymoon 16 years ago, and Jeremy has never been. We had a blast!

It turned out to be more of a workout than I was anticipating though....Jer wanted to stay on the bunny hill (which was fine since he was just getting his skiing legs!) and there isn't a lift or a tow rope on it. He stayed near the bottom, but that got pretty boring for me - so I trudged all the way up to the top every time I wanted to go down. When you are wearing ski boots, it's a lot of work!

I feel pretty good today - a little sore on the backs of my thighs, but it was worth it!

No idea what I'll do today, except laundry.

Lynn

You went skiing in Iowa? Really! Who knew! Sounds like fun!

I had nothing to post here yesterday. Did housework, but not at a vigorous enough pace to give myself any points.

This morning I did some jump roping - then jogged 4.25 miles.
It's hot again here. We had our 1.25 days of winter, I guess.
