Feel better, Lynn! Sorry to hear you're sick.
No whining from me - yet - I reserved the right to whine later!

I'm just sick of this cold. Stuffed up. Sniffly. Sinus headaches every morning. Sore throat from having to breathe through my mouth. And when the sniffles get really bad, they end up approximating hyperventilation, and then things get really weird.

But the good part is that I think it's starting to get better. Maybe.

I've got what feels like a furball at the back of my throat. I sip hot drinks, I sip cold drinks, I gargle, I clear my throat, I hum, I talk, I don't talk, I sing, I cough, I take cough medicine - doesn't matter. This tickle doesn't go away.

MJ,
I'm baby sitting my neighbors cat. We let her lick a little petrolium jelly every night to help fight furballs. Just an idea.

Feel better - all of you!

Wow... is everyone sick practically? Lynn, MJ, and owling, I hope you all feel better soon.

I think I'm actually not going to whine today -- not yet, anyway. It's too early. I have nothing to whine about.

Today I will do 150 crunches (or at least 125). Yesterday I did 125 and 50 of them were with an 8lb weight on my stomach. Worked like a charm. I decided to stop doing situps because when I do them, I keep getting this pulling pain in the right side of my back next to my spine, and then my spine cracks. So I'm going to have to start doing tons of crunches to make up for the benefit I can get from a situp.

Ok, here's my whine for the day... I was telling someone about it and am laughing so hard that I have tears in my eyes. It's really kind of funny. I'll try to keep this as non-descriptive as possible. Forgive me, lol... It's good for a laugh (i think).

Yesterday morning I told Dave to pick me up some "girly products" on the way home because I was all out. I specified a brand but said I didn't care about size because he is a guy and all, and I didn't want him standing there too long having to browse through that stuff in the store. Ok, has anyone seen the commercials for the plus size products they make now -- for sizes 14 and above? Uh huh... guess what he brought me home?

No joke -- these things are huge. They look like the things the hospital sends you home with after you have a baby. Dave kept apologizing to me over and over, but it's no big deal. It's just funny. I can't stop laughing about it -- I've been laughing since last night. I have a headache from laughing. Lesson to be learned here: never send a man to do a woman's job!

(Just to clarify what I meant, I was just laughing over my husband grabbing totally the wrong thing and taking "I don't care what you get" literally. The product I referred to -- I think it's wrong to market them as plus size. I just had to laugh over the things men do sometimes.)

Wink first whine

hello everyone
this is my first post - yay
so i will try not to whine too much.
i will complain about the weather, which i usually accept as is. But it is so cold outside that i have to have the heater running all day long. This is causing dry skin problems, agh. i will have to look into buying humidifier or two. i need moisture.

Welcome! The weekly whine is very therapeutic. And humidifiers are very, very handy! I got a very simple, cheap cold mist humidifier. It does the job quite well.

Yay! I finally exercised again today. And I had tons of energy. I'm glad I took a bunch of days off. My muscles did not want to cooperate last week. I went for only 23 minutes, but maintained about 148bpm at level 3. I think when I get my tape back from my friend I'm going to do 1 hour every other day so I can give my muscles a day to rest. So starting Sunday I will do an hour every other day, and maybe something light on the off days. Still have to do my crunches, but Dave has company.

Gah. Sounds like most of us are sick.

I didn't go to work yesterday because my "ear thing" aka "dizziness thing" reared its ugly head again. As I was crawling down the hall to get ready for work I realized there was no way I was going to make it in to work.

Today I was relatively fine. Some dizziness, but mild. I also was able to get an apt with an ENT for next week. That's great, I think!

I had a lot of scares today regarding someone important to me. Since everything seems to be going well, and everyone was so helpful to me at work in regard to this, I don't have a lot to whine about. Puts things into perspective, ya know?

And I'll add some more good stuff too. I have another coworker on my breast cancer walk team! Yay! Now there are three of us!!! And I am almost positive I have a 4th member about to sign up!

I also made a large order of work-out wear from Campmor today. I ordered stuff for both myself, and my mother. So, we'll be able to walk together. Hopefully we won't wear the same stuff on the same days though... that's a dreadful thought.

Oh man, I guess everybody IS sick. My body has been trying so hard for the past week and a half to get the cold that has been going around, and I think it has finally succeeded. My voice has been going all day and I've been coughing up a storm for the last three hours.

This week and last week are crazy weeks. Last week I had something going on every evening, so that I only came home before 7:30 one night. This week is MUCH worse.

Monday - Cake tasting appointment at 5:00 halfway across the metroplex. Left school as soon as possible to get there on time. Went right from there to trying out a possible rehearsal dinner restaurant. Came home at 8:30 and had to box up stuff to send out for Ebay and Half.com. No school stuff accomplished.

Tuesday - Tutoring after school until 3:50, photographer visit scheduled at 5:30, dance class at 7:30. Was supposed to stop at post office in between. Didn't go as planned. Left school at almost 5:00 due to student (who doesn't speak much English and doesn't have a phone) not getting picked up until then. I was stuck in the office with him, so couldn't even get work done. Photographer rescheduled for 6:00. Spent 6:00 to 9:00 with photographer. Missed dance class. Came home to message from brother saying I must call him tonight. Went to bed at 11:30. No school stuff accomplished, no post office.

Wednesday - Invitation appointment at 7:00. Meetings after school with another teacher and both principals about three separate things. Went to post office. About to meet fiance for dinner to go over photographer stuff and talk about what kind of invitations we want, since we couldn't before.

Add into all this two things. First, I'm on morning duty this week, which means I have to get to school by 7:15 rather than 7:50. This means I'm waking up at 4:00 AM. It also means I don't have time to do the school stuff I usually do in the mornings.

Second, my official "observation window" was opened last Friday. That means that I should be ready to have my formal evaluation lesson at any time. It also means that if I stay up until 11:30 and wake up at 4:00, I can't let them have some silent reading time just because I'm tired - I have to be "on" constantly. I finally did have my formal observation today - good because it's over for the year, bad because I'm tired, sick, and not up-to-date on my school stuff. Oh well.

Can you tell I've been waiting to whine this week??? I will be so glad when this week is over.

Cindy
who is off to find fiance

Get better sick people!

My sinuses have cleared up and I went without an allergy pill today. My big whine o' the moment is that I'm really chilled for some reason and I didn't have to wait outside that long for the bus.

I went running this morning and it was warm enough to go without the sweatshirt and sweatpants, just tights, two t-shirts and a windbreaker (plus gloves and ear muffs ). My trail is still impassable but the sidewalks are getting better, though I still have to slow down for some ice patches.

Oh, happiness. Congestion makes it hard for me to sleep, so I finally picked up some of those Breathe Right Nasal Strips. They feel weird, but they really helped last night!

I hope everyone feels better soon!
