| | I've found that I do about 2200 per mile. I must have short legs or something.

| | Oh Lordy.
I have an uphill battle. I was hoping to work towards 10000 steps a day. Then I wore my ped to work today. So far I've got over 13000 steps in. And I didn't go for a walk today either
So, in order for me to get any additional benefits in from walking, I'm going to have to bust my butt.
Anyone know how I set my goal in my base is at around 13000 steps? How do I know what number to shoot for? |

| | Margaret, I can't answer your pedometer question, but I think that maybe you need to focus on the intensity of your exercise (walking) and not just the steps. Looks like your job keeps you running around all day, but it's not high intensity. When you walk for exercise - try to pump your arms and increase your speed until you can power walk. It's not just distance that you should focus on, but energy and intensity. |

| | Ok - so last night I went to Sharper Image and exchanged my broken pedometer for a nice new one. It works fine, but I must say that I can't really recommend these. The reset button is in the front. I'm trying to track my miles for our cross country walk, and I had to lift a heavy box. I balanced it on my hip, and it must have hit the reset button - wiped out my mileage. I know that I was at a mile, so I'll just add that mile back in later, but I wonder how often I hit the thing and don't realize it.
I think the ones that team EA had - with the cover - are probably a better design (although mine does make lots of animal noises ) |

| | After the 2nd Sharper Image ped stopped working, I bought an Omron. I just got it. I like the design so much better! It's smaller, thinner, and more secure.
I may need some help with figuring out how it works. I finally got it set up (I think), but I don't quite get all of the memory features. Maybe because I have all of 10 minutes on there, and there really is nothing to see.
I'm going to pack for our trip, then I'll get on the treadmill and see how it does. Yeah! |

| | Hey, I'm back into pedometering. Bought a new Sportline Fitness Pedometer 360 to replace the one I had but lost after 3 weeks long ago.
I learned my lesson. At Burning Man, a friend had hers with a string tied to her belt loop and the pedometer. I tied a good piece of nylon cord to my ped as soon as I took it out of the box...at any price they're too darn expensive to have pop off my belt/pants just because of belly fat.
I see that the EA Walk Club doesn't seem to be around any more....is there a new site for us to keep records and stuff?

| | Actually, I've been looking into it, roymeo. The only site I've found so far charges $25 year (per person) to form a team and log, so I'm continuing to look around and see what we have available.
From what I understand, the steppers database is no more, if anyone knows of a viable substitute, please post or PM me!

| | Get thee to Target. Or Kmart. Or Walmart. Or any store that sells watch batteries.
A simple little screwdriver, a cheap ass battery, and you're set.
