Ok folks, it's been a week since we've committed to getting ourselves in shape. Time to actually do something about it.
As painful as it may be, go step on that scale. I promise not to look over your shoulder. If you don't own a scale, hop in the car (or take a walk if it's doable) and head over to a local store that has one for customer use. Better yet, why don't you go see your doctor for a weigh in and discuss the best way you can go about your weight loss.
If you just can't do this, take your measurements (Make sure to measure just about every part you can think of. No not that one, wise ass.) Write down those numbers and put them in a safe place away from prying eyes.
If you can't bring yourself to do that, then try on your favorite pair of jeans and take note of how they fit.
Now, if you haven't yet started your eating plan, start it. Today. It's that simple. Go to the supermarket and pick out the foods you need and stock up. Having the right stuff available will help you avoid eating all the wrong stuff.
Set your goals. Break it down into reasonable, attainable mini-goals to allow you more occasion for celebration.
Then come back here and share your goals (or your results if you've gotten ahead of us.

) You need not tell us your weight. (I don't plan to. :p ) But do share your accomplishments. Do you want to lose 10% of your body weight in 3 months? Do you want to get back into those jeans by Labor Day? Or, do you just want to be able to maintain the weight you're at?
