Stop the Madness....It's Friday Good Stuff! 6/6

whining.

Can you hear me now?

Okay, I understand that it's easy to slip, and it's easy to let out a little wah once in a while, but we can't make it a habit.

Let's do a little check point on what H&F Good Stuff thread should be about...

It's a place to post some daily motivation or a question to the group.
It's a place to post your thoughts on the topic de jour.
It's a place to post your healthy activities for the day.
It's a place to gain support when you have questions.

I've noticed (and I'm just as guilty...it's that time factor creeping in!) that we're losing our focus on getting in our exercise for the day. I hope that it's just the "I'm doing it, but I'm not posting it" syndrome....or something else.

I know I've been lax in getting in my exercise because of the time thing. I just have too much to do and not enough time to do it. I'm not whining or complaining...I do it to myself , and hope that once this weekend is over, I'll be back on track.

Let's talk about barriers that we are facing. If it's your own brain, let's be honest and talk about how to get around it. If it's time, let's make suggestions on how to get that time for ourselves (self-time is important!). If it's another factor, post it here, and maybe one of our wise members can offer up a tip to get around it.

We're roughly half way through the year.....let's keep ourselves going!

Oh, and BTW....have a FABULOUS Friday.

Lynn

I exercised yesterday! Just never got back on line to post. I went on a jog. It was very muggy, but after Vegas it felt cool! I was planning on going futher, but the mosquitoes were eating me alive! (did I just make a mosquitos/mosquitoes spelling error?). I kept swatting at my legs, and by the time I got home both of my hands were read from my own blood. It was really gross, but it made me go faster to get away from the nasty buggers. Did 3 miles in a half hour - then hit the shower.

My H&F reminder for the day - don't forget the bug repellant went you go jogging. Don't want any West Nile Posters around here!

My barrier is lack of motivation, pure laziness, and the fact that I hate exercising. But I did exercise yesterday and I logged it. And I lifted weights again today. My muscles are tired. I probably won't attempt it again until Monday at the soonest. It will take me a couple weeks to get back into this. Next objective is to use my elliptical again, then add yoga.

I exercised Sunday, Tuesday, and today. And today I missed my morning train because of it.

Bah! I made one quick whine about my body falling apart. It really did fall apart yesterday.

I thought you said you weren't going to yell at me?

Anyhoo...

I walked a mile and a half after work today, then traffic sucked so I went to the mall I walked the length of the mall 3 times, so, I got nearly 20,000 steps today without trying

I also bought some nice shirts, and some hair stuff. It makes me feel good.

Oh, and my reward for my first ten pounds that I lost came today. I don't know how the heck I'm going to meet my next goal. Maybe I'll have to cut off an arm or something

Ok, I was kidding, Lynn. More excercise, better food choices. I got it

Oh Margaret, I think I'm going to lose 10 lbs just laughing at your antics. An arm?! I just get a haircut to lose a couple of pounds.

My good stuff for today was getting rid of about 150 pounds of dead weight.

No, not "THAT" dead weight. I'm getting ready for a garage sale tomorrow and we have a truck and my car piled high with "trash" that hopefully someone else will decide is "treasure". I'm tired from hauling boxes, and I'm here to tell you, several hours of hauling "treasure" is probably equivalent to 20 minutes of walking.

Have a good night all. Didn't mean to be quite so snappy this a.m.....I know we are all being good behind the scenes.

Lynn

Yesterday was the first dance recital day. There were two recitals - the little kids and the ballet. I was in the little kids one (to inspire all of the little kids' mothers to come dance, too!) and then watched the second half after I was done. (A dad came up to me and said he'd been coming to recitals for nine years and this was the best adult dance he'd seen!)

I also stayed and watched the ballet. It was great! They did The Wizard of Oz and they put so much thought into costumes, scenery, staging, etc. Each class was a different item - rainbows, tornadoes, poppies, flying monkeys, apple trees, etc. The only downside to it was that it was almost three hours long, which the director of it didn't realize and apologized for!

I have exercised every day this week except Thursday, which I took off to rest my sore muscles from too much split-doing!

Cindy
