Now, I may have to spot you some steps because I get more in the workday than you do....it's supposed to be another rainy day here.

If you don't have all day rain there, we may be even....

What do you think? We gotta get these tushes MOVING.

The rain kept me down yesterday.

So, my plan for today is to run to the Y this evening to lift weights and then run home, a little over 2 miles altogether. If it's raining, I'll drive to the Y and lift anyway, but so far, though overcast, the weather looks better than yesterday.

If nothing else, we can still do push-ups and sit-ups at home!

Okay, I have been seriously bad stepping-wise.

Today is the day I knuckle under, strap on my pedometer and take an actual WALK!

I don't care that it is raining, I am going for a long walk by the water.

I would race you all but I have been so sluggardly I think I would spontaneously combust...

Okay, the race is on.

The Duck is expected to take an early lead.....but that could give her over-confidence, which will turn into her undoing! Taurusmoon and Jennica are known for putting in last minute, huge volume steps

8:38 AM - The Duck has arrived at work. Dismayed by the lack of early morning walk, she decided to go walking around the office park, like an idiot, while people driving to her place of employment stopped to stare. 3633 steps total. - 8:38AM

Dahling, when you are in a race know your opponent. You know you can beat my butt in endurance.

That's your advantage....my advantage is I can beat you in accessibility to smaller bouts of steps throughout the day. Now, whose advantage is a greater advantage? We'll find out. :p

Cindy's advantage is I don't know what her advantage is. And that's to her advantage. :thumbs:

It's 7:17 on the west coast, I have my pedometer clipped to my pajamas with a total of 49 steps. I'm hoping for a cooler day today. Yesterday, I spent the entire day telling myself to get up from the chair/couch/porch and walk but I'm really bad at not listening.

It's a new day and a new week.
It's also a couple of hours until I weigh myself.

Motivation. I take it where I can find it.

I didn't wear my pedometer yesterday

All I did was laundry yesterday. All day. Not sure how many steps back and forth from the washer to the dryer to the folding table to the clothes rack would be. But I'm betting it wasn't that many.

Today I'm sorting. Rick picked up a load of boxes yesterday and we're going to start parking the cars in the driveway so that I'll have a place to stack boxes once packed. Now all I have to do is sort through the 10 years worth of stuff we have accumulated while living in this house. Goodwill what we don't want and pack up what we do. I'm starting in the basement where most of the junk is. Figure once that's done the rest will be a breeze.

As a side job I'll be getting started on the kitchen. Have to sort that and clean, clean, clean. Have to clean the cabinets, inside and out, and walls etc getting ready to paint and redo the floor.

I honestly don't think I'll get finished today.

But I have about two weeks until the next semester and want to do as much as possible before I have to go back to school. Surely all of this will be good for a few steps.

I know, I know.

It's a miracle of God that my first week of stepping happened during great weather and ideal circumstances. It really sucks trying to keep motivated when the weather outside is oppressive.

What do we do during the winter????

God, if I end up buying a treadmill.....

That's worse than doing sit ups!

True story -- I visited a native East Coast friend in California a few years back and the very first native Californian I met had a 2 year old son named "Cloud". That pretty much sums up my formed prejudices against the Left Coast.

6300 at 3:45. The interesting part here is that I am going to finish the day 3000 - 5000 steps ahead of everyone here. I am just getting started, said the tortoise to the hare.

5:50 PM and I'm at 5301 steps. I am certainly not in the lead. However, all of those steps have been in dress shoes, so I think I deserve some extra credit.

Aieeee! I didn't know we were seriously racing until I checked this thread.

It's 8:11pm--does anyone know where my 2500 odd steps are.

I have only stepped 7346 times today--and that is with the walk I took included.

I think I am going to lose
